Step 1: Obtain a grown, three-year or older regular chao. Place in any garden.

Step 2: Obtain either a white OR a shiny white chao that's three years or older and put it in the same garden as the regular chao. Note: If you don't have either, then raise the chao that you need. After having both grown chao in the same garden, move onto step 3.

Step 3: Buy lots of Heart Fruits. Heart fruits are the fastest answer to getting your chao to mate and make an egg. Anyway, feed each of your chao a heard fruit. Once both have flowers around them, bring the regular chao over to the colored chao and let them lay an egg. If the baby happens to be a regular chao, then congratulations. You're very close to having a guardian chao! If not, then keep feeding your chao heart fruits until the chao that hatches looks like a regular baby chao.

Step 4: Take care of the baby chao and raise it with both hero and dark characters to make it metamorphosize into a neutral type. Give it green, red, yellow, or purple chaos drives and feed it until it reaches a certain stamina level, then wait for the cocoon to appear around it. When it becomes an adult, it'll look really cool! Say you made your chao a neutral running type - the green color will be replaced by white, and the chao will look really fruity. Try different combinations to see what you'll get!
